I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old. It is winter here so we can not go outside and play. Does anyone know of cheap games we can play over thanksgiving break?

Baking cookies would be a good afternoon project. Maybe a simple board game like Hi Ho Cherry-O. Sit down and color with them, watch a movie together, or just sit down and play with their toys with them.
Also if it's not too cold out then just bundle them up and head out for a half hour or so and play with them. People who stay inside more often because it's cold tend to get sick more than people who go outside when it's cold :-)

Take your kitchen chairs & some blankets or sheets and make a "tent". My kids will play in that for hours. Have a picnic lunch in the tent too. They may even ask to sleep in the "tent" as a special treat. Have them make homemade Christmas cards for Grandma & Grandpa or other adult relatives or friends that will appreciate them. Go thru the toys & choose some to give to less fortunate kids so that they will have room for the new ones Santa brings. Play dress up - only rule is they have to put the clothes away that they get out! Bake Christmas cookies & freeze them. HAVE FUN!

They are so young its might be hard to pick games for inside, but let me see here (my son is 5 daughters are 2 that is prety close) how about buying a deck of cards and playing a made up game? How about playdoh (just use a table cloth to help with mess) you can make it really cheaply or buy at dollar store, memory (you can make the cards for it if you want) how about just every day games like "I spy" or "Find red things or blue things, find things that make noise etc, if your 2 year old doesnt know colors then you can help. One of my two year olds fave game that gets her going every time and wears her out is to hide our cordless phone and hit the page button and she looks for it. She loves that

Why can't you take them outside?? Because it's cold? Ever heard of coats, or hats and mittens? They were made for winter! You can't keep your kids inside for the next 4-5 months....bundle them up and take them outside to get some fresh air! There's just as much to do outside in the winter as there is to do in the summer. I think it's YOU that doesn't want to go outside because you think it's too cold. I'm not the biggest fan of the cold and winter either, but I love taking my son outside to play no matter what time of year it is.

as long as they are bundled up some outside time is good, especially in the winter when the house is all closed up. It's good for your immune system to get fresh air. Only go out for short trips to the park.

Games are fine, but every day or two it's good to bundle them up and let them run around outside. That's what coats and snowsuits are for.
