go to add remove programs. look for it in the list, if it is there, click remove. a window will open and ask, repair or remove. click repair.... this will sometimes fix it.... if not you will have to reinstall it from your system disks... Good Luck!

MOST pre-loaded systems using Microsoft OS include microsoft word, BUT ONLY as a 30 day "free trial."
If you don't "buy" the key to activate it, it disappears at the end of 30 days. (It is still there, but not active.)

OR

It is possible that you did erase it, in which case you should be able to replace it with the "repair" function.

OR

You could install a different program such as "OpenOffice" which can read and write to "word" file formats. The BIGGEST problem I see with openoffice is that it puts EVERYTHING on screen at once, rather than in separate "sections" like MS Office does; and that can confuse new users.

Microsoft Works is installed with XP. It has a word processing program, but it isn't Microsoft Word. That only comes with some version of Microsoft Office, and you'll have to buy that.

You can try to restore to a point before you uninstalled office. And yes it is possible to erase almost any program that came installed on your computer. You can also try the Add/Remove programs list. Click the Add/Remove Windows Compnents tab to see if it is listed.
