I went to the er. my doc will not allow me to take meds while pregnant. i took steriods the first time, two years ago, and recovered within two weeks 100%. will waiting so long to begin treatment affect how well i recover, if i do at all? im only 22yrs old. i have read so much info on bell's palsy but hardly any exists when it comes to pregnant women with this condition. also, the first time i had it on the left side. this time it is on the right and a lot worse.

If you can avoid meds, especially prednisone, while you are pregnant, avoid them. You can take the meds after you deliver and will probably be OK.

I have lupus, and know very well what prednisone can do to an adult. You don't want to do this to your baby if you can avoid it.
