Too many things to count, but I do have journals full of answered prayers. I believe that "no" and "wait" are answers just as "yes" is. I like "yes" much better, of course.
When my children were small they thought having a minivan would be the most wonderful thing in the world. So I prayed with them for a van. We prayed for two years and when they asked why God had not given us a van yet, I told them that God always provides our needs and sometimes our wants. "We don't need a van, yet. Our car is working fine." I should add we could not afford to buy a vehicle. Then I was in an accident and the car was totalled. It was driveable, but.... now the need was clearly there. Shortly after the wreck a friend from college called. He was a missionary, home from Papua New Guinea for cancer treatment for his wife. His family (wife and 3 daughters) had been given a van when they arrived in the US, and now they had been given another one. He and his family talked it over and wanted to give one of the vans to us. My children loved it. God has always met my needs and often my wants. He's that sort of Father.

Yes, loads of times. A recent encounter is that I prayed that I wouldn't make a fool of myself at school and I didn't. I then prayed that I could be acknowledged by some people who don't acknowledge me, and voila. And then I prayed that I would be acknowledged by the most popular girl in school, and I almost heard God say "Don't push it."
