I lived in Ecuador for 12 years. it is not just water u need clean water. I have boiled tons of water. U can also use ocean water to cook with it already has salt in it. Down in the jungle u have plenty of water but I don't recommend that u drink it. This is in the head waters of the Amazon.

Some places suffer water shortage even though there are so much water in the world due to the increasing populations and their daily use of the water and the people wasting water and maybe due to the acid rain and the pollutions that it is impossible to provide good clean water to everyone and specially to the poor that sometimes we too have to boil the water before using the water that is provided to us
