A cast iron frying pan. Mix up your crushed pineapple, some butter and brown sugar in the pan, mix up your white cake batter according to directions. Pour cake mixture over top of pineapple mixture and bake in oven until toothpick comes out clean when poked into center of cake. Should be about same time as on baking reg. cake maybe a couple minutes longer. Take out of oven. Place a plate (a little larger in circumfrence than pan) over pan, grab bottom of pan, with thumbs holding onto plate. Flip upside down and let set for a moment. Take pan up and there you have it! If you want to get fancy, after mixing pineapple, butter & brown sugar mixture in bottom of pan, you can put pineapple rings in, and put a maraschino cherry in the center of each ring. Rest of the directions the same.

I use an 8 inch round cake pan. Or you can use a 9 x 13 if you wish.

I use my cast iron skillet. If you don't have a skillet, go with the round cake pan.
