About the only time I'm truly happy is when its raining. I know the world is getting cleaned around me and everyone is being careful about how they move about in it (or should be). I love the sound of thunder and feel secure, kind of a womb like feeling. When I do get out in it, I enjoy the feeling of the rain on my skin and my clothes sticking to me, comforting me.

However, I can understand how most people would not like this feeling, being trapped inside or afraid of travelling on unsafe roads. Allot of drivers act like its not even raining, that the roads are just as safe as usual, etc. I guess emotionally, people would just not like the overcast, dark, dankness of the mood. But for some of us its just the opposite, we enjoy the privacy.

I think that it's left over conditioning from childhood because you couldn't go outside to play in the rain.

Personally, I feel good in the rain. It's because I grew up in sunny southern california and when I started college at UC Berkeley in drizzly old SF bay area it was a very happy time for me. Now when it rains I feel good.

Your body is reacting to the lack of sunlight. You can use an artificial light source if your mood really affected.
