If a guy is dating someone and he still contacts his ex, whats that a sign of?? why cant guys ever know what they really want? serious answers only!

This depends on a few factors. If it is a recent break-up and you are the first or second person he's been taking out....then he's still sorting stuff out. If he's worth it, be patient and understanding for a few months or you'll drive him back to her for sure. If you can't handle that, then it's best probably to move on because he's acting on his natural impulses. (I don't mean physical.)
If it's an old ex from a few years back, he's probably just curious to see how that person is. Personally, I don't contact my old flames, but there is a manly impulse to always hope that the old flame is doing well.
So what is this a sign of? It's a sign that has absolutely nothing to do with you. It's a freight train of human behavior you are standing close enough to feel the wind, but if you jump in front you'll be crushed by the weight of history that he's hauling. I hope this helped.

Just because the touchy/feely part of the relationship is over, is this grounds to dismiss someone like yesterdays newspaper?
Of course not. Maybe he still has a friend in this person. I broke up with a girl 10 years ago, and we are STILL best of friends.
Men ALSO need someone to confide in, and we need a boost to our ego's on a regular basis that goes far beyond sex.
The woman I am leaving was great in bed...but she was NEVER my friend, or safe harbor. Are you either to the person you are currently with?

some guys never get over their ex...or some guys just want to know whats happening in the lives of people who they cared about. Dont make a big deal about it....But also if it bothers you, tell him and if he is sensitive enough, he will try to be more aware of your feelings. Good Luck.

it depends...how serious were they? if they werent serious it really may be possible they are still friends. does he talk to her around u? if not there might be something to worry about. but be careful if he does this behind ur back...thats a sure sign he may still have feelings for her.

i have the same problem w/my ex. he still wants to keep in contact and be physical.. i have no idea why they cant make up there minds. i finally told him if he didnt leave me alone i was going to tell his new girl. that worked.
