well.. i have some male friends.
they are all really nice to me but i have a problem with some of them.
some guys just ask me " why" way too many times during our convo.
for instance, i say " what did you do yesterday?" and he goes" i played basketball with my friends. why?"
or i say " what did you eat for dinner tonight?" and he goes " i had a chicken and salad. why?"
everytime i ask them something, they say " why".
you know... i'm just trying to carry on the convo.
i'm getting sick of these " why guys"
i like them but the way they talk to me really irritates me.
is there any way to politely ask them to stop it?

you know sometimes it just does get annoying when they say why and if they do just say"I'm just asking" and if they keep on saying why, you just go ahead and tell them " well i just wanted to start a conversation since we didn't have nothing to talk about" and if that's not enough for them, just them leave alone for now. good luck

Some (most?) guys aren't wired for the free flowing communication women enjoy. When you ask a question, they assume there is some, you know, actual reason that you need to know this information. It just doesn't make sense to them that you're trying to converse in general and frankly the poor things get confused when this happens. Also, they universally think any question involving them means in some way you're hitting on them. Wait...you're not are you? I can never tell.

actually this might be your solution to it see some guys have a nervous tendousy (sorry for spelling i dont no how ) and they get question all guys do it why is just saying wait i hope i say the right thing maybe she will tell me if it was a bad answer and ill get to fix it kinda thing! and askin them politaly yeah just confront them about asking why they ask why lol sounds weird but it might work just be nice about it sometimes guys get to nervous and decide to just drop the gurl becasue he felt threatened so yeah good luck

Unlike females, guys don't have conversations about stupid and unimportant things. so when you ask a question they want to know the reason why, the significance of the question. hope that explains it,not sure it does, but I'm i guy and it does to me!

Maybe they find it awkward that you'd ask such menial experiences. "Hey, how did that job interveiw go?" is one thing, but I myself would be curious as to why someone asks me what I had for dinner last night.

yea just ask them " why ask why ?" they probably think you are going to make a move on them or something.
