I had a partner that I found out had dated someone while still with me. He carried on till he couldn't take it anymore and just left. The dating was not successful, but I believe that one should break up before starting something new.

I do believe that if you want something new, break up with the current partner first. I know this from experience. Especially if you think you are done with the 1st relationship but they don't know it yet. You must tell that person before beginning a new relationship. I found out that is the Right thing to do, the Hard way.

I think some one should definatly break up with the other before starting something new. It would create wayyy to many problems if they didn't.

i totally agree that you should break up before you date someone else.. but some people are not grown up enough to do that.
