The logic of this question is a classic example of the sort of neanderthal English arrogance we Scots have to put up with every day.
The answer is that Scottish football results are read out on the national news because Scottish football fans care and because Scotland (unfortunately in my opinion) is still a member of the United Kingdom!
Hopefully, this state of affairs will come to an end after the SNP win the next Scottish Parliamentary Elections and we Scots will not have to suffer being inflicted with having to watch boring, meaningless England matches because the BBC are too tight to pay for the rights to televise Scotland's matches for Scottish viewers.

Scottish Football results on National News.Why not are you an SNP trying to stir up trouble.
Lots of people who live further South have moved to get away from the bigotry that exists in some parts of Scotland. However, many love to watch Scottish Football results.
What I object too is when you get one particular presenter of Scots Sport who does nothing on a Saturday afternoon but slag off the English per se. Most times his ignorant rantings are absolutely nothing to do with English football.
IDA KNOW... may I add to waht you said that the English killed in Ireland.... true. though I would look first at Scottish History in relation to Ireland before you start pointing fingers at the so called transgressors.

And yes I care.... diversity is what the UK is all about we cannot afford a parochial attitude.

you must live in a very small cacoon. have you ever been to scotland and wanted to know the ladies volleyball results from kent ? well guess what, you can. many scottish people visit,work,and even live all over the british isles. the question should be why don't they show northern irish football results on national tv ?

I don't know, although the national news is broadcasted to Scotland so they probably would ask the same thing about English football be broadcasted in Scotland.
I only found there results usful once, when I bet on Hearts beating Rangers.....I lost the bet!!

The pools, it is the national news, england isn't a nation and it is the only football the Beeb can afford to buy as Sky has priced them out of the market!

first of all you are a short sighted ****.
international news is for the whole counrty (yes scotland, wales, ireland and england). what we should be asking is why there is so MUCH about English football shown on the 'national' news, if you watch it if the scotland SCORES are shown then you are lucky never mind the goals. any scrap of news about the england football team is shown but a severe injury for scotland? nothing. seriously you need to get a grip.

ummmm, I CARE!!! scottish football is a big part of my sports life. along with that is FIFA..... in other words......YOU may not know anybody who cares about scottish football, but there are LOTS of people who do.
