I have a C partition with 15GB and a D partition with 135GB and my C is full. I can't figure out any files that can be moved from the C to the D. I've already uninstalled some programs, and I'd rather not uninstall more. I have partition magic 8.05 (a version after Norton bought it from PowerQuest), but I can't figure out a way to redistribute the space between the two drives. It appears to just want to be able to move unallocated space. I figure I've got to move the space before Windows boots up, but I can't see a way to make a bootable disk in Partition Magic.

Partition Magic is notorious for destroying hard drives. I would NOT use it under any circumstances.

If you can't find any files to remove, you may have to resort to copying your stuff off and re-doing the whole thing.

It's your choice... you can use Partition Magic and risk losing everything, (I've NEVER actually even seen it work) or you can take the long road, not lose a thing, and get it exactly how you want it.

You can use a program like "partition magic", BUT it HAS to be on the C: drive to work. Then you just simply "resize" the partitions.

(I use partition magic on 9 different machines, and have yet to have it fail to do the job, it just takes quite a while with a fairly full drive. A lot of RAM helps speed things up!!)

You MIGHT make backups "just in case", and defrag the drives first.

I never used Partition Magic but in Disk Director by Acronis this procedure would take one minute. In Disk Director I just chose the partition to be extended then pressed "Increase free space" and chose the partition to take a free space from. Maybe in Partition Magic you should execute the same procedure?

I have version 7.0 and at the left lower part of the window it shows 'Resize partitions'. Use that, it works fine.
You set up the changes you want (be sure you allow enough space for the files that are on D:) and the system will make the changes upon rebooting.
