Well, there's the obvious run spyware and virus checks. Assuming you're clean, what about moving to another client that handles Google Talk? I think any of the Jabber clients will work. Alternatively, you could just use the interface they have built in to Gmail.

Remove block popup.
click on options on google tool bar ot yahoo toll bar
-->uncheck block popup box
it will definitly work.
