Look for a packet of salsa seasoning in the spice aisle or by the produce. It is SO EASY. You basically chop up 4 tomatoes and a little onion and add seasoning. Your done.

I am not a tomato person, but I like salsa. You will never find a fresh tomato in my kitchen, but I've made salsa with canned tomatoes. My kid likes them very small, no big chunks. So I use one can petite diced tomatoes and one half of a can of tomatoes with the diced chiles already in it. I put that in a food processor to reduce the size of some of the tomatoes, but I don't turn it into soup ! I add a diced onion, garlic (if I don't have a clove, I use the crushed stuff you can buy in a jar- always have that on hand), and cilantro. We love cilantro! I add salt as well. I don't use any exact measurements, but I check as I go along. We're simple people at my house, so basic salsa is good enough for us. Sometimes I add lime juice. It is important to let it sit in the fridge for a few hours or overnight, then it is better.

I use roma tomatoes, white onion, cilantro, jalapeno, lime juice, and kosher salt.
I usually make about a 2 lb. bowl with approx. 6-8 good sized roma tomatoes diced small, 1/2 small-medium white onion diced small, 1/2 bunch cilantro chopped, 1/2 jalapeno chopped small, 1 lime juiced, and a few pinches of kosher salt. Mix well and enjoy.
