There is something that is called free will.
You do not get to do whatever you want and go to heaven . . . . . it is said Jesus will not return to the earth until every person has heard the truth. You have people who are put in your path in life and they were maybe only there to tell you . . . Jesus loves you and accept him and you will go to heaven.
That seed was planted, you now have the knowledge and decide to listen or not.
Same with Christians, they can decide to listen to God and follow him or not. There are Christians that will go to hell.
The difference is they know that God is a loving and forgiving God and as long as you are not intentionally sinning and saying you are covered by the spirit, you can and anyone can ask for forgiveness at any time.
By the way there are different places in heaven . . . . . everyone is not going to the same "level" if you will.

If one lives with this kind of mentality deaath will come at an unexpected time. The time the unsaved people have on earth is so that they can repent, and definitely not so they can continue in sin. God gives people many chances to repent yet with this mentality they are using the opportunity to get away with sin with the hope that they can repent just in time. It does not work this way.
People who are like the ones you described are very unlikely to repent since their sin has brought them so far from ever having anything to do with accepting salvation.
For those who think that they can do whatever they want and still go to heaven because they have accepted Jesus, You may no be saved at all since salvation requires repentance (This is a change in the way one is. This change will result in a change of behavior.) In the Bible, evidence of salvation is found in 1 John. This includes loving other people, Not loving Sin,Happily obeying God's commandments... The Bible does not say that an experience is good evidence of salvation.

Being a Christian is more than just accepting him once and then doing whatever you want. Its a confession of your sin (anything wrong) and repentence. Repentence involves more that just asking forgiveness, its actually being sorry for what you've done. So yes, even if a murderer found Jesus right before he died, than he would go to Heaven. In luke 23:39-43 in the Bible, a criminal was being crucified next to Jesus. He asked repented and Jesus said "...today you shall be with Me in Paradise". He is in heaven. But if you accept Jesus and then go around doing anything you want, its not real. God forgives you if you mess up but Christianity is not a ticket to sin. If you mess up, you have to ask him to forgive you. I am a Christian and I sin too. But I feel terrible when I do and repent and try not to do it again. I have devoted my life to God and will do anything for Him that he asks.
So accepting Jesus is not enough. You must live for him too. You will find that the stuff you used to like (sinful stuff)wont be that great or important anymore. I truly hope this answers your quesion. God bless.

I think it would be a BIG mistake to have the attitude that anyone can do all the sinful things in life and wait till the last minute and think they MIGHT get by.
It is true that many persons have been saved at the last minute, but they did not just decide to to do it that way. God is merciful, and he calls us many times , and a lot don't answer that call, they go on living in sin thinking they will change later, but sometimes, they get killed without having that chance to call upon God before they die..
We CAN NOT do whatever we want and still go to heaven, GOD said that if we LOVE him we will keep his commandments, and if we say we love him and keep not the commandments, we are liars and the truth is not in us..

Read the Old Testament books about King David. He was not a role-model type of guy, but he knew how and when to repent. Also consider the Apostle Paul - he persecuted and killed Christians, as if what David did was not bad enough, and Paul wrote that God's grace to Paul was a sign that, if even the worst of sinners can be sanctified, then certainly salvation is available to everyone, regardless of their past.
As to your elaboration "as a Christian do you get to do whatever you want and still go to heaven"....... Well..... Jesus said something to the effect that sinners who do things in ignorance and blindness will not be judged as harshly as those who claim to follow Christ while they meanwhile go off and sin freely. How does that work? Well look, if God has enough grace to say "I will forgive you of all yours sins if you follow me" and then we say "alright I'll follow you" and we do nothing to follow him, but instead we revert back to our sinful lifestyles, God will obviously not be pleased.
Romans 6:15 sums it up well. I could elaborate but I've said too much.

The people that you're talking about are hypacrites. Everyone sins, but if ask Jesus to forgive you, he will. That doesnt mean you can sin all you want and you'll still go to Heaven just cause you asked for forgiveness. You have to at LEAST try to stop doing that sin. Dont fall into temptation.
Matthew 26:41
"Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing but the body is weak."

i don't ask questions i try to help answer real ones (from people who need that help) many that do come here are not religious and they are not spiritual the help they offer (is not really help nor hope) Psa 14:2 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, [and] seek God. .....Etc - there are a few people here that can help others - while the rest try to hinder good works but its allowed i suppose as long as its done respectfully (and honestly) - i could care less GOD makes the rules (not anyone else) HE allows the positive and negative (so people have a choice) everything in this life is learned ....this includes manners (and respecting others) Don < ><

No, you can't just do whatever you want. Anyone can receive forgiveness and get into heaven, the trick is that you have to legitimatly repent, be truly sorry, and not do that anymore. Once you've accepted Jesus, you have to do what He said, "go and sin no more". Everyone sins, the catch is you have to try not to and repent when you do, truly repent.

Everybody sins. If you screw up big time, its only human. God created humans the way he wanted them to be. So if you do something bad, God won't hate you. But if you commit a sin, ask for forgiveness, and keep on doing it, what does that tell God? If you have sex like like there's no tomorrow and murder and rape and steal, what you did was bad. Bad. Really bad. That will never be undone. However, God still loves you. And if you ask for Jesus' forgiveness and you really mean it, I'll bet you'll get in to heaven. God doesn't carry grudges.

If you accept Jesus Christ and mean it before you die and you live the life of a Christian then yeah you'll go to heaven. But you cant play games with God. When you do sin just ask forgivness he will forgive you, God never gets tired of forgiving.
