Just wondering.

If a man opens a door for you, do you think "What a gentleman?" Or do you think something like "You sexist pig! I hope you die!"

I look forward to your answers.

Say "thank you" and be glad that there are still people with common courtesy.

I hold doors open for guys. Being female is no excuse not to be polite.

I never get offended with anyone who shows common courtesy, it seems to be so rare these days. I always do the same for others. It should have nothing to do with if you're a male or female. But, since we're on the subject, I've always been a sucker for the "knight in shinning armor" type. I like it when men are respectful. Sadly, I don't think there are many men out there anymore that know the meaning of the work "chivalry".

I smile and say "Thank you". And this works both ways. If I am going through a door, I check to see if someone is right behind me and hold it open for that person whether male or female. It is common manners, people! As for car doors, if it is casual, like going out in jeans for a quick burger, I'll hop right out of a car, but if it is a big dress-up occasion, I still prefer for the man/driver to come 'round and open my door. So much easier to get out of car in high heels and fancier dress when the door is open and a hand is extended to assist. A guy who does this shows respect and appreciation for the time you took in getting ready.

Quite the opposite, I feel offended if a guy rushes without holding the door open for me, or for anybody else just right behind him. It's nothing to do with being sexist, but social etiquette, basic courtesy towards another human being.

no i dont get offended because sometimes I even see men hold doors for men because they know that they are going to the same place that they were leaving out of. I would consider it kind instead of he being like i saw you coming so I am just going to let the door go or slam it in your face.It is not at all sexist.

I don't really think about it having anything to do with gender. I see it as convenience. If he is at the door and holds it open, that's polite. I'd do the same if I got to the door first. It's just polite to hold the door is all.

I think it's very nice. I think of a guy as a gentleman if he holds open the door. I think it's a good sign... he's thinking of your interests and not his own at the moment.

I get offended when someone, anyone, DOES NOT hold a door open for me. When I am not pushing a stroller or carrying hundreds of bags, I feel flattered when a guy (or anyone) holds a door open for me....

There have been times where I am pushing a stroller, and no one gets the door. Or other times where they walk through the door and dont hold it open for me.... thats when people suck.

Are you kidding? I love it, and have always loved being treated with respect. There is little of that these days. And, for the record, I am also a femininist, in that I believe men and women are equal. I also will hold the door for a man if the situation arises.

No I think its fantastic when a guy holds the door open for me. It doesn't happen very often in today's society. It indicates that he is a true gentleman. :)

I think that it's nice when anyone holds the door open for you. When someone opens the door as an ulterior motive, I don't appreciate that. But I still say Thank you.
