The only cars i have in mind at the moment are the BMW 3-series' and possibly other BMW's. I am looking to buy under $10,000. I know thats asking a lot but there's a nice 99' BMW 5-series across the street for $7,800 so i know its possible. Any suggestions on other types of cars or any pros/cons on used BMW's would help greatly. Thanks!

Hmm I'd be jealous. I never got anything like that. Keep in mind it could get wrecked. I bought my '00 Acura Integra GSR for 9,000 when I got out of high school and I'm pretty sure that BMW 5-series should be worth more... or it has something severely wrong with it. I like imported cars because they are more reliable, the service on European cars could be more than domestic and imported, unless you know someone. Plus I just love my Acura, it has leather interior and what-not, and I bought it from a great old lady who didn't drive it hard at all (unless she's a good liar). I think no matter what you decide, it's more important on being patient for the right car. If you don't know much about them, take someone who does, so they can inspect the car. Make sure you meet face to face and talk a bit to the previous owner, you can tell a lot from meeting with them. Just some things to think about. I don't really have many suggestions on other types of cars. Whatever you decide, just really be careful on who you buy from! Good luck.

Why on earth would someone buy a 16 year old person a BMW3? When in fact most wrecks are caused by teen age drivers, ( and cell phones). Save your money, maybe when this child reaches 18 and you have 60,000.00 saved up get them a Hummer. Alot of room, and a whole lot of potential.
