Some cats just hate to be picked up so don't pick her up. My cat took four long years to even snuggle with me and she hated being picked or hugged. So I just waited, now she sleeps right beside me and even snuggles on the couch. Now if she's begging for food all the time she must be hungry, I let my cats eat when they want, their bowls always have food in them and lots of water (not milk). Has your cat been wormed all kittens are born with worms take her to a vet if you can't afford a vet go to reputable pet store and aske what sort of worm treatment they have for cats, and follow the directions strictly. If all of these things don't help add a good half an hour play time with it will give your cat attention but won't make it feel claustrophobic. If your worried about leaving cat food in a dish purchase a brand for weight consious cats that way the cat can munch when it wants and most cats won't over eat Unless they have worms, parasites. I'd really take it to a vet for a check up most vets will offer a payment plan if you really can't afford it. Your cat is a family member and should be treated just like one. Good luck you sound like a really caring person and your cat is lucky to have you

She's a cat. If this behaviour isn't something new, then it's perfectly normal.

Not all cats like to be picked up and cuddled with. You can usually tell this from when they are very young. It's nothing out of the ordinary; some cats just don't like it.

Most cats like to eat. This is nothing abnormal. Feed her twice a day. Feed her a good quality food (like wysong, natural BALANCE, wellness, evo, etc) according to what she needs to consume. If she's thin, try feeding her a little bit more.

Other than that, you seem to have a perfectly normal cat.

You haven't given much info here for a helpful answer. You did not indicate any changes in her behaviour as did she used to like being picked up?? Or if you keep food out for her at all times or wait until she begs?

I can only offer and ask you to think about a few things. If there are changes in her wanting to be picked up or handled does she acts as if she is hurting? Changes in her belly as in swelling or tenderness? Could she be pregnant? Changes in her passing urine or bowels? Check out the litter box.

Is she eating more all of a sudden? Have you changed her food recently? And most important, when last seen the vet? It's hard to really be of help since you gave so little info on her.

If she is or could be pregnant then she would have a increase in apppetite. Could also be worms taking the nutrition and she is eating more to make up. Worms could irritate the stomach and also make irritable.

Possible re ask the question and provide more details so others can be of help.

She doesn't have a problem. She's a cat, not an RC toy. If she's begging for food, chances are she's *hungry* and needs to be fed! Every day!

And if she doesn't like to be picked up, don't pick her up. Sit down by her and maybe she'll jump on your lap.

Some cats just do not like to be picked up. We have 3 cats, and only one of them likes to be picked up. The others will sit on your lap if they have gone there on their own, but never if you put them there. Cats, like people, are all different.

Your cat may be hungry. Try leaving dry food and a bowl of water available at all times. Cats prefer to grab a bite here and there, rather than eat a couple of large meals a day. A hungry cat is not interested in cuddling...it wants to eat.

Cats will become overweight fast, so make sure you're giving her the right amount. Not too little, not to much. Your cat may just need some time adjusting to any changes that may have happened. Sometimes it could be the new enviroment she's in, or the new furnature.

My cat Jerry, hates when i pick him up, he loves to eat. I think they like being in control of what they do, though he is very loveable and awesome.

She simply may not like to be held.
When she begs for food, do you give it to her? Maybe it's a Pavlov reaction. It's what I personally call "Who has who trained?"
