Im in to this girl at school and we've always been pretty good friends (hang out at school but not much outside until now). How should I go about telling her that I'm interested while being as little akward as possible?

Just start gradually and casually hanging out outside of school. If you're in college (or are allowed off-campus for lunch), then invite her to go to lunch with you.

Or else casually mention that you found out x band was playing, or that your friends are going bowling, or you really want to go see that new movie that just came out, or you've been meaning to check out an exhibit at a museum, then invite her to go along. It doesn't have to be awkward, but if she says no, do not react awkwardly.

Keep inviting her. If she says no for a third time in a row, then take the hint and leave it at friends.

If she does want to hang out, don't assume anything, but be on your best behavior and treat her really well. Just be considerate, and don't expect anything.

Don't push the physical thing (even kissing) until you guys have hung out several times outside of class and there's that right moment.
