same as anyone else; he'll stand around and want to be in your presence, even though he hasn't anything to really talk about. he may offer quick, calculated responses that aren't completely natural but do well enough to keep the conversation going.
is he giving you any eye contact, any body language though? does he stop whatever he was doing, or whomever he was talking to, for a conversation or a look at you? do you like this guy yourself, and if so perhaps you should break the ice and speak to him first.

he looks at you a lot, smiles a lot. . finds a reason to be around you a lot.
By the way, if a guy is shy and likes you, he may not even show ANY of these signs. . (trust me, I know, I am a guy, and I was shy in high school. . so I basically waited and did nothing about letting the girl I was interested in know I was interested in her (til a year or two after high school, by then it was too late. . she was taken)

1. He dosent want you to talk to any other boy but him... for example if you ask another boy sa question he will say the answer 2. He always asks you if you like anyone 3. He sits next to you in class 4. He smiles at you all the time when you look at him 5. If its boy + girl partners he will always want to go with you

Signs=
1.) he blushes when he sees you
2.) he figures out a "safe" topic to talk with you about like school, work, etc.
3.) he moseys over to say "hi" ever so often when he finds the courage

i like this guys answer up above me...buttt not always the answer...yes thats the jist of it but talk to him find out his likes and dislikes..once you know hell either act more as a friend by telling you of other girls or he wont say a word and still seem shy..meaning he does like you but like i said earlier..looking at you isnt always the key...but a reason to be around you IS!!

laughs at your jokes, likes to be around you, calls you for "some HW stuff" playfull touches, makes fun of you, all his friends treat you nice, when ever you walk near him and his friends all his friends give him playful punches and start smiling, he all tells them to go away when he walks towards you "to talk". all classic signs.

If he is himself around you, and if he is always paying full attention to you, not to other girls. Also, guys blush too! If he laughs at all your jokes or tells them to you. Then it should be obvious. If you really want to know if he has feelings for you, then ask him! Hey, it has worked for me before!!
