There is a story of her refusing the offer of a pair of shoes when she was in Calcutta because her children had no shoes. (The orphans).

I don't know about HER intelligence but why we don't tear down war generals statues and replace them with hers certainly says a good deal about OUR intelligence.

That's my kind of hero.

Peace.

She put her entire life in Jesus hands. Here you have a woman who wants to live in the poorest area of India with just 2 Saris and some underwear and a pair of sandals and basically no money to help the cities poor and diseased and you have to ask if she was a risk taker?

She was intelligent. She was smart enough to think out of the box. When she was shown a bathroom in one of her houses that had many stalls because so many people lived there she grinned a big grin and said "Someone must love Jesus very much" when asked why she had said that she said because everything in the bathroom was so clean. Can you see why she said this?

From what I've read, she was highly intelligent. As for being a risk taker, she went to live in the most crime ridden, poor area of one of the poorest countries in the world, how could that not be risky? She took care of the sick, the lame, lepers, the dying, submitting herself to attack, or catching some of the disease rampant there. Risky? Yeah, I'd say very risky.

This sounds like homework...

She was obviously intelligent. It is not reasonable to describe her as an intellectual, as one might describe the present and previous popes.

Was she a risk taker? Would you spend half your life in a cholera-ridden poverty hole trying to keep the poorest people on earth alive for another day?

On the other hand, she opposed contraception, so seemed very happy for poor people to give themselves more miserable mouths to feed, destined for death at five years old. Charity.

Do the rest yourself.

She has a university degree from a university in England, and speaks several languages. She went in to Lebanon during a war regardless of the fighting to get the children nad wounded out when she was told it was impossible. Allegedly Mary the Blessed Virgin told her tuesday they would stop and that was the day she went into the war zone,,,risky only if you lack incredible faith.

Did you hear how a man who was atheist came to interview Mother Theresa and he waited for her in a dimly lit room? When she walked she was bathed in light and lit up the whole room! The news reporter instantly converted and wrote about it. Of course she had intellect, she had God isn't that enough for you? Yes this is a true story and I cried when my mom told me, because it shows how loved she was by God. Intellect is serving and seeing Jesus in the poor, and that is just what she did!

She had enough faith to believe in God, and she had enough sense to do what she knew to be his will.

Case closed!
