I dont go to church on Sundays (wasn't raised like that), although I did go to church every Sunday when I lived with my grandmother for a while. I do believe in God and Jesus, but I don't believe in everything in the bible, such as Adam and Eve. I do believe in evolution. Haven't been baptized. What religion would I be considered when I am filling out forms?

You're a Christian. And you're much like myself. I don't have to fit myself into a religious category to feel comfortable with my beliefs. I feel I don't have to attend a church every sunday because God hears my prayers whether i'm in a pew or on the toilet. Don't categorize yourself. Just be happy with who you are.

'Have you tried a non-denominational church or a Bible Church? Except for faith in Jesus Christ and a some other basics they are usually not too dogmatic. It is hard to say because churches vary from one area to another. I went to a Covenant church for a while. The real Covenant church is hard to find. They had a Swedish Lutheran origin, but today are more inter-denominational and have dropped the liturgy---less formal. You would be well accepted in the one I'm thinking off. Good Christians---a combination of a number of faiths. Try them out. You can not go by the name on the door. Look for what is practiced and taught. There are a lot of churches with the name but not really Covenant. You have to learn to ask questions.Like whats the origin? Do they have a governing body? Otherwise that may just be part of the name and any church can use covenant in their name. If their are none in you local try a Bible Church or inter-denominational church. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

You are some denomination of Christianity since you believe in Jesus. You should do some research on which denomination speaks to you - some don't take the Bible very literally (ie. no Adam & Eve, 7 days of creation) etc. Maybe Unitarian Universalists? Episcopalians? If you really feel the need to define yourself, look into them and others.

Christian moralist perhaps? It depends what you think of Jesus though - was he a mere moral teacher that you agree with, or do you consider him to be the Son of God and the savior of mankind? If you believe he's a mere moral teacher - then I'd say you are perhaps irreligious, because believing Jesus was a real person does not make one a Christian just like believing Napoleon was a real person doesn't make you a Napoleonite. I could elaborate but I tend to ramble on and I'd end up typing four pages of stuff.

Could be anything though. Deist, irreligious, secular humanist, Zen Buddhist. Who knows.

Everything about your education and frame of reference sounds Christian. Technically, unless you've been christened or baptized, you cannot be a member of almost any church. But if you're sick in the hospital, and a chaplain stops by, you'll understand what the Christian chaplain says, whereas I doubt you'd identify with the Muslim, Hindu, etc.

Hi if you believe in god and jesus but not as the churches outline them then I guess you would define your religion as spiritual. I believe in god but as a universal energy force and I believe jesus was the greatest healer of all if you are aware of spiritual healing and what is possible with it.

How can you say that you believe in God and in Jesus Christ, and then turn around and say that you believe in evolution? Evidently, there are a lot of things which you do not believe that are in the Word of God. For it teaches us that we were created by God as human beings, beginning with Adam and Eve; not as monkeys, which eventually turned into human beings. I do not know of any religion, or denomination, that you would be considered; unless it be evolutionist. And if this be the case, I feel very sorry for you. My suggestion is to get your heart right with God, which can only be done by accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord of your life; and then you can call yourself a Christian.

I think generic Christian would be descriptive enough. If you find yourself seeking an organized religion that welcomes your beliefs, try your local United Methodist Church.

You're a Christian because you believe in Christ; you're just not a Bible literalist. And that's not a bad thing.
