Threaten you with eternal damnation for not buying into their thinly disguised veil of mythology?

I have had a bad relationship with christians

I was born Jewish

On the first day of school i ever had, a classmate told me i killed god. I remember crying and running to my mother. I didnt blame christianity for that though, i though the kid was just mean....

but when i got older i started seeing christians different. I saw them as the embodiment of hate. I mean, the whole basis of their bible is that anyone who isn't christian is a sinner and must be converted.

Throughout history, Christians have murdered millions in the name of Jesus:

1. The slaughter of those who believed in roman gods when christianity took over rome.
2. The massacre of jews in the dark ages
3. The torture of jews in the inquisition
4. The brutal murders of jews and muslims in the crusades
5. The murder of 6 million jews in the holocaust
6. The bombing of abortions clinics.
7. the murder of homosexuals

I am now an atheist and am very opposed to christian extremism

Our job was to spread the word, its 2006, and I think that the word has been spread, so our job is done. Why would we threaten you with an eternal damnation you don't even believe in? That's ignorant. Personally, I'm sad for you, but don't really care if you believe or not, not my problem. We can't force anyone to believe, and we're not the judge regardless of whether you believe or not. Your belief or lack of it is between you and God, hasn't got a thing to do with me.

I would suggest seeing a therapist about that anger problem though.

The good news is that you get to make your own choice. God gave you free will just for this purpose, He didn't create you to be a robot, just to be a relational person who cares about others. He actually created you for fellowship with Him, but that is again, your choice. No one will threaten you with anything. The simple truth is that not choosing to spend eternity with Him will put you in satan's eternity, which is hell. It's your choice. I hope you will choose carefully. :)

So what do you believe? Is love the basis of your belief system? Doesn't sound like it. There are BAD apples in EVERY basket not just in the christian circle. Why don't you ask God to reveal Himself to you. Ask Jesus to open your eyes if there is something you need to be shown. Don't just judge. Investigate for yourself...
I have "tasted and seen that the Lord is good" for myself. And won't let go of Him. People are flawed. Including yourself. If you always look to man for an example you will ALWAYS be disappointed.

Go in peace and God Bless you.

Isn't that what most organized religions do? Even within the same denomination, the factions splinter, each insisting that all who believe even a little bit differently are damned. When there was only one big church that was effective in squashing dissent for hundreds of years, and now it's just silly and annoying.

It happens some times by so called loving Christians, but on the other hand I have christian friends that would never dream of it.

Opinionated and closed are we??

If you look a bit, you will see God all around you - my guess is that already do.

The truth of salvation is not a made-up contrivance, it is the key to life - both now and eternal. A threat? no. God's love - very real.

You call it mythology, do you even know the definition of the word?

That's and idiotic statement, and if you don't believ in Christ then you will burn forever. The choice is yours.

You should be worried about what God can do,not Christians.
"Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell."

Matthew 10:28
