I'm feeling crazy right now. I need to figure out what's wrong with me. I feel depressed. I feel like I have some mental condition, but maybe I don't and Im telling myself that to give myself an excuse for how crappy I am.

I was talking with my mom and she asked me why I don't hang out with anyone. She suggested that I don't feel like I fit in. Which is totally right, but it shouldn't be. I look normal, if not attractive. In fact I see girls checking me out a lot. But I don't feel normal and sometimes when I look into the mirror it's as if that person isn't really me, or im not good enough to be that person. I wonder why anyone really likes me because I see nothing in me.

Maybe I really am depressed. Maybe I just want attention. I really don't know. I shouldn't have any reason for being depressed. I only have one more day of school and then I have a big thanksgiving break. I should be feeling happy.

There is no such thing as what you "should" feel. What matters is how you feel and how you want to feel. How do you want to feel? What would help you feel that way? Go do it!

You say you're feeling crazy right now. Do you mean this isn't a normal thing for you? If so, then you could be developing seasonal depression. I have had seasonal depression since I was around 13. My season is late fall/early winter, when it starts getting really cold. I don't know the exact cause for it, but it has to do with the seasonal changing. I have never gotten help or been medicated for it. I just do what I can to push through.

This is the first year in 7 years in which I have not experienced it! The reason is that I have had a drastic change in diet. I don't eat a whole lot of sugary junk food any more and make an actual effort to be healthy. I even take a vitamin (One a Day Weight Smart) every day! It may help to change your diet. It's been proven that people who eat well feel good!

Yes, You need help youngster. I would suggest the first stop is with a doctor, have your mom make you an appointment but, let the doctor know how you feel or the trip and this is no good. Understand?

The doctor will probably have you evaluated and then they can go from there. I worked with the NEON group from the University of Minnesota, West Branch, many years ago helping out young people that needed help with feelings like yours.
Your not unique in any way, there's a lot of pressure on young people now days and it's just starting to be recognized today. What with the wars going on, the crime rate and pressure for money and schooling, I don't wonder why. It's right out in front of us so, Take care and follow through on this, it's your life.

It sound as if you have a lot of confusion going on. Maybe you should ask you mom if you can talk with a therapist to help you sort out what is going on inside of you. It doesn't meant that you are crazy. It simply means that there is some emotional dis-regulation going on and you need help sorting it out.

Stop comparing your self to other people. You are you and you have your own good qualities. 'When we compare ourselves to others, we are never good enough or smart enough or wise enough or pretty/handsome enough....etc. We will always find something wrong with us.

The reason I suggested a therapist is because you can say things to a therapist and they will not judge you or think you are crazy. There job is to help you and give you tools so you can help your self.

As far as happiness goes....it's a choice.

Good luck.
