You speak as if the white people respected the laws. Name one treaty they made with the native americans that they didnt violate.

I agree, this is probably the most racist/uneducated/puerile comment i've ever, ever seen on here.
You need to take a huge reality check my friend. Firstly, why would the Native Americans have the need for an immigration system? They DID try to stop the immigrants stealing their land but they had cannons and guns and the natives had bows and arrows. Not a particulary fair fight eh? Therefore, when your ancestors came here "legally" it was under a system of law which was MADE by immigrants and not the indigenous peoples and natives were not allowed to participate ( in fact it actively promoted discrimintation) as they were demonised and turned into second class citizens in their own country. Then Africans were victimised, then the Irish, then the Jews and now it's South Americans and Arabs.
I cannot honestly believe that you think this is a valid argument:
"Its not my fault the Native Americans didn't have international immigration laws". How could a series of tribal systems cope with the organisation and the logistics involved in that? Not to mention the fact that there was NO NEED for an immigration systym until Europeans started showing up and killing them.
People like you should be FORCED to take a class in history. I've got no doubt that plenty of your uneducated redneck friends will mark my answer as a thumbs down because they are too illiterate of too scared to confront the real issues which aren't taught in your candy coated sanatised history classes. All of this without even mentioning the billion dollar black economy which holds your country together, you know, all of the menial jobs that you probably think you're too good for. The illegal's argument in America right now is clearly a smokescreen to divert the unaware or unattentive away from the real issues in the middle east. Take your head out of the sand and find out what is happening in the world. TIP - MTV does not constitute real news/current affairs.

Is it? Consider every immigrant came here illegally because the land was taken illegally according to the Natives' point of view. Does not matter that the Natives had no immigration laws. The country was stolen. If many of our courts had not accepted that point of view, there would have been no court ordered reparations granted to Native Ame5rican Nations. Using that argument, mine were also illegals.
The INS also has set quotas on how many from which country are allowed into the country. Since those quotas seem to based on race, they sound unconstitutional on the face of it.
Taking either view, the US has no jurisdiction over who is legal & who is not..Seems to me both sides have a point.
By the way. Answering your own question is called propaganda, a direct word for getting on your soapbox Seems like I read somewhere .it violates Yahoo guidelines.

It is not your fault that My ancestors did not have the foresight to know that their land, lives, and way of life ,would be systematically destroyed by A hostile force of invading land hungry savages who used every and any means possible to exterminate all indigenous peoples they encountered on their way west to the pacific coast . So, in reality the land you live on is stolen property.
If you cannot or will not defend what your ancestors have left you, We The Original Peoples of this land will gladly show you how. We have learned much from your ancestors.

I don't think it pathetic. Just the have nots wanting to "have".
Can't blame them. They want to better their life.
I think illegal immigration should be stopped. Rules are set for a reason. It might make more jobs and promote less unemployment. (I'm not an economist) But I also think many Americans should get up off their a$$ and do some labor.
LOL that just my opinion. Walk to McD's for a change and walk a few blocks to the store. (if it's safe)

Using the past as an excuse has always been the favorite argument of individuals with limited present-day logic and evidences to support their side, next to ad hominem attacks and the race card.
The whole deal with the native indians, the pilgrims and that stupid Mexican-American war has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with today's immigration problems, and everything to do with the question of current legality, current sovereign laws and current law enforcement.

Your statment/question is stated a little harshly, but the point, that when many of our ancestors came to America there were not immigration laws as there are today, is well taken. Our country must evolve as the population continues to rise. Additionally, the economy is ever changing, and policies, including immigration, directly impact that. So, yes, there are laws which need to be followed for the betterment of society and the protection of the country and it's economy. No illegality should be tolerated, either by the immigrants or the companies that hire them.

It's a whole different world than 300-400 years ago. Yeah, our ancestors mistreated the natives. Does that make it ok now? of course not.
It's about assimilating. My ancestors learned English, became contributors to this new society, not dregs, and respected others. This cannot be said about the new immigrants. They come here with no intention (most of them), contributing. They drain the welfare system, the schools, the hospitals, and send what money they do earn here to Mexico.
Lowering wages, because they don't pay taxes for the most part so they net more than someone else making the same wage who is paying taxes. Forcing the legal workers to look for higher paying jobs because they can't sustain a living wage.
I dunno. This country is going to hell in a handbasket.

It's not that pathetic, we still accept the notion of people immigrating to this country. The illegal part is a politicians creation.
It's something to hang their hat on so to speak. If border and customs were able to do their job correctly, we wouldn't be having this conversation. The fact that you are on a computer that, probably has high speed which, may or may not be in your work place tells me that things just are not that bad for you. So I'm assuming that, the phrase, "illegal immigrant" was also brought to your table by a politician.

OK...people who came here legally, have studied our history and our laws....the people that have not, don't understand our history or our laws, so they tend to break our laws and cost us tax dollars, i think we have enough problems in our country right now...and taking on a bunch of under educated illegal immigrants is not the best idea for our country.....I understand that life in other countries can be hard but that's up to their countries government to handle

The illegals immediately fall into the clandestine activity pattern and the govo knows about it. That's the difference. That's why Ike said to guard against ' the industrial military complex.' Have any feelings akin to being in a banana republic? No offense to Latin friends who may be reading and might also be as much as able to relate what the ' strong man ' politics are really like out there.
