advantages and disadvantages of using standardised Audit Programmes?

the advantages will be that it will be easier to do as all audits will be done in the same way,whatever you audit can be compared as they are done in the same way. documentation will be easier as you will have a standart format .the disadvantage will be if it isn't flexible enough the it may not be able to cater to special situations of some special operations.
