While being active in the ministry in the usual way,do you report your activity on Yahoo Answers at the end of each month? Do you get to do return visits? Do you limit your time on Y.A.? Do you answer what question you can,but limit what time you report? Do you neither limit your activity on Y.A. nor the time you report? Do you limit reported time and actual time spent on Y.A? Are you unable to do any other type of ministry? What good experiences do you have?
I've just started answering questions on Y.A. and while I don't have a problem with it,I do wonder where to draw the line. I don't answer questions that are obviously antagonistic. I don't pay attention to the questions and answers of anyone who has an axe to grind and apostates. I just feel that I could easily auxilliary pioneer (which I hope to do in the near future) on Y.A. but I don't want to limit myself in the pioneer work to the internet.
Any information you can supply, even if it doesn't quite fit my question is fine.

The standard is to use approved methods of dessemination of the truth. If you use Y.A., you may represent only yourself and may use your gift of the Internet literacy to share your knowledge and help those who want to be helped, but privately on your own; not under the auspices of J.W. This means non-reportable time. However, if someone has been inspired to accept your message and actually make a contact to you for more information / studies privately, then such time is reportable. Otherwise, while on Y.A,. you are sharing your knowledge privately, perhaps an hobby. Reportable times are those that use the approved methods or those that have resulted in actual study or private elucidation. It's a good question to ask, since we each are given differently and we can use our gift in praise of Jehovah. It is my personal view, but since we adopt telephone witnessing, it might be plausible to adopt Internet witnessing in the nearest future. However, the discrete and faithful slave class has to issue directive and/ or approval. Do let me know please, if you get an official position.

I'm not a baptized JW yet because I'm just studying, but I find myself definatley sharing my newfound beliefs with people here on Yahoo Answers. Hopefully, I can report it when I become a publisher!

**For the hard headed ppl on here who think all this is too hard to understand so they conclude that JWs are "freaks", do some research. JWs report this stuff in order to see what kind of progress they are making in the world because they care- as opposed to the religious leaders across the globe who give their sermons and figure that that was the preaching Jesus instructed us to do- for what? So they can sleep better at night, thinking they did their part?

right.

Why do you need to report anything, do what you want and answer to yourself. I also assume from your question that you are using yahoo answers as a way of preeching, is this why it is clogged up with christian zealots?

To the people above who are shocked about jvs using the internet in this way- they wrote into thier religious texts some extra bits that say they should go out snd preech.
even though in the original texts of the bible there are many suggestions that christians should leave people alone in thier beliefs, in the modern king james version revelations states something like " he that steals, let im steal" and so on- meaning that they should believe that people are free to do what they want and will be judged by thier god rather than needing to be converted and saved. It also states that while there is "more room in heaven for one sinner that repenteth......" that only counts if he converts of his own free will so preaching t people could prevent thier forgiveness.
I should add that I'm atheist myself.

I've been wondering the same thing myself :) I'm not on YA for the express purpose of reporting field service time, but I am curious to know if the time I have been spending on here is reportable.

I think asking the Service Overseer in your congregation would be the best bet. That's what I plan on doing.

Ignore those who try to insult us. It's only because we are "no part of the world." I answer honestly, provide reference material, and then leave it alone.

If you truly want to pioneer, you know that Jehovah will bless your efforts :)

Let me know what you are able to find out . . . . ;-)

I am associated with Jehovah's Witnesses, although not yet baptized. I do share what I believe about Jehovah here on Answers, but I do not report it in any way. To my way of thinking, I don't turn in time I spend just talking with my neighbors, or the mailman or the grocery clerk... and to me this is the same thing because we are liable to speak of ANYTHING here, not just the truth. I, like you, do not purposely answer questions that are baited, nor do I argue with anyone about what I believe. And you will be surprised to discover how many folks will have ugly things to say to and about us ANYhow. So, congratulations on sharing the word about Jehovah, and you will find many brothers and sisters who also visit here. They can strengthen your faith by their words and ideas... wish everyone could see it! :)

Just wondering if you yourself are a Jehovah Witness. If so, please remember, He who has the Son has life and he has not the Son does not have life.
Isaiah 9: 6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a child is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, THE EVERLASTING FATHER, the Prince of Peace". How can anyone but God be called the Everlasting Father.
I am saying this in love as my heart goes out to JW's because they are so close but they are also so far away from the truth because they are not giving Jesus his rightful glory. And, please, do not start on the trinity thing because though the word itself is not used, it is implied over and over again. In Genesis it says "We will make man in OUR image". I think the problem is that JW's don't realize that when Jesus came down to earth (read Phillipians)he put aside his heavenly glory and attributes and became a man with some limited abilities temporarily in order to provide a sacrificial redemption for man". But as you can see in Revelation he has gone back to his glorious state and the angels in heaven worship him. Anyway, probably more than you asked for but eternal life is everything and I hate to see someone very sincere, but sincerely wrong miss out.

I was under the impression that Jehovah's Witnesses were forbiden or at least discouraged from sharing their faith online.

I'm shocked that a JW would have a computer and be on the internet! Really, they urge their children to drop out of school as soon as they reach legal age. That way, they keep them as illiterate as they are.

That was scary.

"reporting field time" and "discrete and faithful slave class" --- WHA??

<> Whatever you're selling, do NOT sign me up. You should have been speaking in pig latin around us non-JW cause damm skippy, that stuff is scary sounding.
