I was with my bf today at lunch, and he just happened to bring up an old gf from several years ago. Just very casually....as in, something funny she did one time. She has since died in a car accident. Also, years ago. Why would he bring her up like that now? We have been together for 5 years. He tells me I have replaced any feelings he had for her. I wonder if that is true or not.

I wouldn't over analyze what he said in casual conversation. I wouldn't necessarily say that since he brought her up that he is thinking about her alot. Think about all the people you think about in one day. As far as his having feelings for her, I'm sure that it was very hard for him when she died, there will probably always be a very small place in his heart for her, even just as a friend.

There is nothing that can be done to stop him from thinking about her. If he's been with you for that long, then I definitely wouldn't worry about him still having feelings for her, even if he did it's not like he could act on them. It was probably just a coincidence that he happened to think of her. I wouldn't worry about it.

You may not have replaced the feelings, but im sure he cares about you. he may have brought her up because its her birthday, or their would be anniversary, or maybe she has just been on his mind. i think you should be supportive( no get mad) whenever he brings her up, because, at least you know hes not going to leave you for her.You have him now, dont push him away by showing jealousy of a dead girlfriend. he may just need to talk about her, and you as his woman should be there for him.

Are you insecure, or what! I mean, the woman has died and you are wondering why he brought her up in conversation!

Seriously lady, you need to take a grip of yourself, and commiserate with him for his loss. He's obviously lost someone he cared deeply about. Would you not want him mentioning you, if you were in the same siutation? Or would you want to be forgotten about?

Relax, something may of reminded him of her and he shared it with you. Aren't there people you know from a long time ago and not one single time you have never ever mentioned them?

Don't be so petty since she is not even alive. People sometimes think of other people does not mean anything.

she was once apart of his life. just because he talked about her doesn't mean he hasn't moved on. everyone has a past. you have to realize you are his present and she was his past.
