Looking at the state of the world, isn't it easy to see that the "intelligent designer" is actually an unintelligent designer? Yes, living beings are EXTREMELY complex. However, any dimwit with the proper tools can build a computer, which is an incredibly complex machine. However, it takes intelligence to make the built computer work correctly. Thus is it assumeable that a) the "intelligent" designer is stupid, b) the intelligent designer is crule, or c) that evolution IS the intelligent design? Or am I missing something here altogether?

Hey look, I'm answering a day old question.

The simple point that everyone here fails to conceive is that the world isn't perfect. You're right, any dummy can put together some computer components, just like any ol' deity can throw together a universe. But it takes a good deal of intelligence to make it work. Human nature is corrupted and the world today has basically gone haywire in some parts.

Is the creator stupid? Maybe.

Is the creator cruel? The Christian God--yes. Punishes disbelievers, which defeats the purpose of "free will." The Muslim God--yes. Pretty much the same thing, but personified through the actions of Muhammad. Yay for prophets...

Is evolution the intelligent design? Quite possibly. I may believe in a god, but I've never come to a conclusion on HOW he/she/it created stuff...

So if our design is so simple, how come we have yet to build a replica of a human brain, or any true artificial intellegence for that matter. Why haven't we yet been able to duplicate life in a lab from something that was not alive?

You are not as simple as even our very best compurters, and to say so shows a lack of understanding of how truely complex just your own body is. Take any high school biology class and you should be able to learn at least that.

And yet, I get the feeling that this isn't your biggest problem with intellegant design. You want to ask that old question, if there's a God than why is the world as messed up as it is. To answer that question in light of your specific question, the problem is that we no longer live in a perfect creation. The fall of man introduced chaos into a perfect creation. It is man's freewill that has messed up our world. Not God.

If you are really, truely looking for an answer, and not just blindly throwing out your own opinion as a question with no intention of learning something different, than I would enourage you to read the Bible to learn more about this designer whom you don't seem to care so much about.

The book of Genesis tells us everything was created by God, nothing evolved.
Every creature was given the ability to reproduce after it's own kind as it's stated ten times in Genesis 1. Dogs do not produce cats, neither do cats and dogs have a common ancestry. Dogs began dogs and are still dogs. The vary species from Chihuahuas to saint bernards, but you will not find dat or a cog (part dog/cat) throughout God's creation. Frogs don't reproduce oysters, cows don't have lamb, etc. God made monkey as monkey, and men as men. Each creature brings forth after it's own kind. That's no theory, that's a fact.
Why then should we believe that man comes from another species ? If evolution is true, then it prooves that the bible is false. However, the whole creation stands in contradiction to the teory of evolution.
Here's some examples that the Science confirms the bible.
The bible (2000-3000 years ago ) said the earth is a sphere (Isaiah 40;22), science then said the earth is flat, science now said the earth is sphere.
The bible said 2500 years ago about innumerable stars (jeremiah 33:22), science then said only 1100 stars. Science now said innumerable stars.
The bible said (2000- 3000 years ago) that ocean contains deep valleys and mountains (2 samuel 22:16). Science then said the ocean floor was flat. Science now said that ocean contains deep valleys and mountains.
The bible mentioned that the light moves (Job38:19-20), scinece then said light was fixed in place. Science now says light moves.
The bible said creation made of invisibles elements (Hebrew 11:3), science then was ignorant to the subject. Science now confirm that creation made of invisibles elements (atom)
the bible said that each star is different (1 Corinthians 15:41). Science then said all stars were the same. Science now confirm that each star is different.
The bible said air has weight (Job 28:25). Science then said air was weightless. And as you know the science now confirms the bible.
By the way the bible also mentioning dinosaurus in Job 40:15-24.
So, the science in the bible has been proven for thousands of years.
Thanks

I'm not following the logic. What part of life needs intelligence for it to work? Plus there are not too many dimwits who can build a computer. Maybe with a harddrive and a monitor and connect them, but who can take silicon and plastic and metal and make a harddrive? All I know is that I need a thumbs up!

Spending time on that's, nicely -- pointless. that's like arguing over how dinosaurs became extinct. mutually as there is sufficient quantity of approaches to discredit the two section, there is inadequate evidence to coach the two one. clever layout and God: - different than for religion, the place's the confirming evidence of a a approaches better capability/architect (God). - What activities might have enable to the creation of God? - If God is all-useful and supremely clever, why did it take distinctive tries to create semi-functional people extremely of barbaric animals (in accordance with neanderthal continues to be and assuming that the slate became into wiped a minimum of two times by an ice-age and then flood). Evolution: - when you consider that each and every thing the two exists as an element of something larger or demands capability to be created, then what foundation exists for the super-bang concept? - If a giraffe can evolve an prolonged neck, then why won't be able to pandas only tweak their nutrition plan to stay away from extinction? - Why is it that the only concrete checklist of drastic evolution is that which has befell in people or brought about by people (controlled breeding, hormones, and so on.)? There are actually not any solutions to those questions. specific, some unfastened examples (in accordance with hypothesis and concept) could be spoke of -- yet absolute, concrete evidence does not exist. diverse ideals and recommendations earnings diverse human beings. It does not cause them to stupid or ignorant. the persisted seek for solutions might desire to in no way be abandoned, and optimistically, sooner or later, we are going to learn the solutions. till then, there is not any element in arguing over it or discrediting the two section.

i find it hard to see it your way. any dimwit with the tools can't build a computer, not without the instructions. why does water, the only liquid that supports a living ecosytem, freeze from the top down, whereas every other liquid freezes from the bottom to the top? the intracacies of the human body? come on. you presume that our universe is a matter of probablility? how messed up and how much more simple would our universe be if creation was dependent upon chance?

Not going to insult you, but just wondering- have you figured in free will? Christians believe that God made the world perfect, and through the first man's free decision to sin, this world fell from grace...and so now is in the state it's in. God made it perfect, but our free will decided otherwise. Even when a computer is broken, it doesn't change the fact that its designer was intelligent...

Mutation is a blind tinkerer, taking something that works and making it slightly different -- sometimes worse, sometimes better. Natural selection is the force that gets rid of the unsuccessful mutations. Time allows complexity to accrue. Intelligence is a byproduct evolution, not a driving force.

I'll go with j.

If you examine the names & numbers in the bible's text you will find mathematical designs & codes that no human or computer could ever have produced. You can read alot of scientific proof supporting the bible in the book "The Signature of God" by Grant Jeffrey.

For me to believe my brain with 120 million cells and 130 trillion electronic/chemical connections evolved from a single celled algae takes more faith than I'll ever have :-)

If you build any machine and allow it to funtion as it chooses without any direction it will be a shot in the dark as to whether it will decide right from wrong or wrong from right. We were given that choice in the beginning, and we (the first humans) chose to ignore their creator and go their own direction. Too bad for us. Fortunately, we are being given a 2nd chance to modify that position through the ransom sacrifice of Christ Jesus.
