It's like every time me and her get together, there is this palpable silence when we're about to go our seperate ways. We have/had (I really don't know where we're even at right now) dated for 6 mos. But every single time we're about to hang up or go home, it's like she's waiting for me to say something more, deeper. We love each other for sure and have been able to tell each other (and show each other) in the past, but she wanted time for herself and still texts me all the time, and these silences...What is she waiting to hear me tell her? Again, these awkward silences didn't start until she told me she needed to be on her own (which was fine for 18 hours until she started texting me about a hundred times that weekend).

Females are a different kind of creature all on their own. It's like if we say no, it means yes! Females believe in "romance". I think your friend is wanting more personal attention from you, without having to really ask for it. She wants it to be your own idea. So maybe she thought if she told you she needed "time", you might get scared you may be losing her, and make a quick step forward! I know it sounds silly, but like I said, we sometimes are strange! But in a good way!!! So, I think if you truly do love this lady, go out on the edge, and really show her-she's needing it!!!

How about asking HER what the silence periods are about? It sounds like you both need to discuss this "separation" and clarify exactly what she needs and wants...
