Everytime i get hold of my school books i just lose it completely, i immediately feel too lazy and end up doing something else. At times i just fall asleep!!! Now i have a big test tomorrow and i'm rushing around trying to get everything in my head. How do i get rid of this habit of doing things last minute (i do get good grades afterwards but last-minute reading is risky all the same). HELP!!!!!!!!!

Learn to focus your attentions. Turn off any electronic distractions.

I was the same way in college. One of the best things you can do is to take lots of breaks. Study for 25 minutes, and then call a friend or watch t.v. or whatever for 10 minutes, and then go back to studying. You'll retain much more information that way as well. Considering that your exam is tomorrow, I would put a pot of coffee on and stay awake half the night.
Good Luck!

I totally know how you feel! I fould that it helps to set a study routine - I grab a large coffee, shut off my cell phone, turn on some tunes and lay out everything on my desk.

Writing everything down helps me to stay awake, and seems to improve my memory of the material as well...

Good luck on your test!

You have an aversion to the actual book- opening the book triggers a subliminal reaction in you. To re-pattern your response, imagine that somewhere in your book, someone has pinned or stuck a £5 note. You will find it much more fun to open them, especially if you mention this to your parents and they oblige occasionally.

you should go to a public place like library some place where all you can do is study stay out of environments where there is music radios tvs etc. those are distractions and you will never wanna study that way some place quiet where you can let go everything and focus.

take it step by step don't try and rush to cram in all in. Try listening to music not metal, rock, classical try pop maybe, it keeps you awake and relaxes you. Turn off distractions like tv, you could get sensible friends (friends who won't distract you but help you) round.

i'm the same. i like reading novels...but with revision to do i feel guilty when i do. so i end up doing neither :D.

best thing to do is buckle down to it.-that's the hard part. but once u've started you actually enjoy it! ...until a distraction comes along!!!!!
