Yeah, an ugly lump inside the eyelid. My daughter had it three years ago for about 6 months and had to get it surgically removed by laser treatment (lasted about 15 minutes). She spent an hour in bed after that and then went home and was at school the next day. If you have one go and see your doctor.

i worked for an ophthalmologist for 7 yrs, here's what you do:
get a wash cloth as hot as you can stand it. place over the affected eye. do this several times until the chalazion becomes soft. press down gently on the lid. some of the puss may drain, if not keep repeating the hot compresses. if it does drain use warm water and baby shampoo to clean the lid. if it persists for more than 2 weeks see a doc.

If a chalazion is the same a a cyst, I had one last Thursday. Dr told me to leave it for a week or so to see if it would go away, if not I could have had it removed. It dissapeared of it's own accord in 11 days.

Needle and a steady hand then scraping against the lump with a finger nail. Though in retrospect that was probably stupid of me.
