Morales is one of my favourite all time fighters, but to see him against Pacquaio Saturday was a sad sight. Even though he is only 29 he has been in a lot of wars and I think too many hard battles take it out on you. He has now lost 4 of his last 5 bouts and I say it's time for the great man to hang up his gloves for good and enjoy a long retirement.
Thoughts?

Yeah he is only 29. He can have a great life after boxing. Can you imagine being 29 and financially able to comfortably support a family for the rest of your life. He has so much to lose and so little to gain by continuing. He already has a fantastic boxing legacy. Hang it up

He has nothing left to prove and with the battles he has been in he should seriously consider his future. Stepping up is one option but I genuinely believe his body is no longer fresh enough to adapt to a new weight class and we would see the "better" big men dish out some more KO's to this mexican legend. I hope he retires for the sake of his well being

All brilliant sportsmen reach a point where they have to say: 'That's it, no more!' More so in boxing where staying longer than you have to only serves to destroy what you have gained and what remains. My own personal favourite was Roberto Duran and he simply reached a point where he couldn't do it any more.

So, yes, he should hang up his gloves.

Morales suggested that himself after the fight. I have Puerto Rican friend who watched the fight with me. He is fluent in Spanish. He said the interpreter misinterpreted his statement. Morales hinted at that in his post fight interview.
