Carnival has a wonderful boat leaving from Fort Lauderdale on May 6. It's on the Carnival Liberty which is a great boat, one of my favorite things about this boat is that it has poolside screen! so you can chill by the pool while they play movies, also it has a 4.5 star rating out of 5, and it's one of carnival newer boat(built in 2005). The itinerary for May 6 is as followed.....Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Freeport, Bahamas; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands; Riviera Maya, Mexico; Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The oceanview stateroom is only $529 and the Balcony room is only $ 749. Also, this date has upgrades available. So if you book a room on a lower deck you have the option to be bumped up for free! I notice that you mentioned leaving from Mobile, AL, here is a word of caution, the boat that leaves from there is extremely OLD, it was built in 1985 and it does not have the comforts of the newer boats. I hope this helps you.

My husband and I went on a cruise in June for our honeymoon. We took carnival cruise lines from Miami to Key West and then on to Cozumel. I think it was $500.00 each for our four night cruise. We had a room with a window and I have to say that having a window is great! I've had a room on a previous cruise without the window and it drove me crazy not to know what the weather was like when I woke up? Do I put my bathing suit on to go to the pool or not?!? Anyway, the prices on carnival are fantastic....the food is pretty good..and they always have lots of activities going on when the boat is at sea! I'm so glad we did this for our honeymoon! It was so relaxing and so worth the money! I definitely recommend it! Check Royal Caribbean too because sometimes their prices can be quite competitive with Carnival's.

When you take a cruise, any cruise, the price is in the cabin you choose to be in. If you have no problem with a inside room they are quite cheap on most any cruise. Actually, when you figure all your food is free, shows are free, swimming pools and you do not have to pay anything to go ashore at any port. You unpack your clothes, your room is now paid for, I think it all comes out cheaper then most vacations you could take. Now if you want a suite with balcony you are spending a whole lot more money. All depends on what you can afford to pay. But, no matter what, its a good time.

I'd recommend princess cruise lines. My family has had a bad experience with celebrity cruises... so maybe any other one. the nicest cruise I've taken was with princess. Search travelocity for your specifications and you'll find one. All you'll probably find from florida is a caribbean/mexican cruise. The one we went on left from ft. lauderdale, went to an island in the bahamas (princess cays), grand cayman, costa maya and cozumel. It was really nice.
ps. I wouldnt really care if the room had windows or not Sometimes its better to be in a non room window because you can sleep in as long as you want w/o it getting light. esp if you are out all night partying or doing whatever else you want .... ;)

Cruises are great.. I am sure that you are going to have a great romantic time.. If I were you to just start things off I would order a bottle of Champain and strawberries to have in the room when you arrive.. As far as drinks, I am guessing that you are talking about adult drinks.. These you have to purchase seperatly and average about $5 to $7 each. The cruise that I went on, you got to keep the glass that the mixed drinks came in, and they were really neat cups. Dinning is fun, You are going to go to your desinated dinning room at your dinning time each night. Your breakfast and lunch times are also sat up, but most ships have a breakfast and luch buffets on the top decks by the pool and there is always rooms service.. You will sit at a desinated sized table.. Try to get to know who you are setting with, I have met some of my best friends on cruises.... You will get a menu and can order all that you want off that menu.. So you and your new wife should both try something different to be able to taste more and get more of the experience.. Now when it comes to the special resterants, most require a reservation. Most can be made as soon as you board. The sooner the better. You will also have to pay a fee to eat here.. They usually run between 15 and 30.00 per person per meal. On the Spa, You need to make reservaton as soon as you board. It fills up very fast so as soon as you board you need to head to the spa to set those up.. Most of the shows on board are broadway style. They will also have presentations the night before each port to give you some optional information., like things that you shouldn't miss and best buys.. Also when you get your documents you should also get a guide to some land excurions , spa treatments and what to expect

I think you could probably get a good rate on a Carnival Cruise Line. Of course, we went in February from New Orleans to Cozumel, and it was really cheap. The room didn't have windows, but you aren't there for the windows. I would go for just a plain room.

Most cruise lines have a cheap rate on the first sailing in January. This is due to the low popularity of it being right after the holidays and people can't take vacation again.

I wouldn't go on an inexpensive cruise because people always get food poisoning. Just, whatever cruise you choose, make sure it isn't Carnival. :P
