Has this ever happend to anyone? Why does it do that?

most pies of that consistancy ( pumkin, squash, custard, even cheesecake) will crack
Its normal.

It's cool, it happens all the time, it will crack even more will you put it in the fridge. It's still good though, your guest will still eat it, I love sweet potato pie you could have dropped it on the floor, I would still eat it!

Sometimes custards will crack when they cool too quickly. Next time, turn a large mixing bowl over the pie as it cools.

Sure! It's quite common-no biggie, that's why folks top them with marshmallows or cool whip.
