AC in and DC out.

A diode only allows current to flow in one direction and blocks it if it is wrong.

the diodes in the bridge are connected together so that the +V current flows in One direction. the bridge .....( I cant be bothered)

A bridge Rectifier consists of four diodes, which will conduct current either in positive half cycle or in negative half cycle, so at the time only two diodes will conduct, by the way converts AC into DC.
