Multiply the amount in question by 0.65 - the figure shown will be the amount minus 35%.
E.G. Original Price £150, discount offered 35%. 150 x 0.65 = £97.50 is the new price.
To find the discount just multiply the original by 0.35

Times it by 0.65 (or times by 35, divide by 100 and take that away from the original number).
On some calculators, you can times it by 65 and press the % button (often 2nd function/shift etc. needs to be pressed).

To get the final price of the item multiply the total cost by (1-discount).
So, for a $10 item you multiply
10 * .65 = $6.50 final price
To find out how much you saved multiply by the discount.
10 * .35 = $3.50 savings
