We are going to spend Christmas Eve and Day at Disneyland, in Anahiem. Should we be prepared for insane lines?

Yeah. I live in La and go quite frequently. It's almost always crowded, but there are things you can do to be prepared:
1)Buy fast passes for rides you can't miss. Don't get in long lines when it's about time to go redeem your fast pass.
2)Don't give up. The lines only get longer!
3) Do you have kids? Probably. Keep snacks and an activity-like sticker books-that they can do standing. Food lines will most likely be long too.
4) Can I recommend what to get fast passes for? Any of the mountain rides, Autopia, and Pirates. Tiki Room too, maybe.
5) My favorite food? In tommorowland, there's this cafeteria right next to space mountain that has the ABSOLUTE best Italian food. Also, the downtown Disney resturants are good.
6) Most of all, don't complain about the lines! Kid's opinions are really shaped by what their parents say. A burden to you is HUGE to them. Just don't get started.

Have a wonderful trip!

Yes Disneyland is packed during Christmas time. In fact, Christmas Day is one of the most crowded days of the year at Disneyland.

Yes more than likely since a friend of mine is going there for Thanksgiving and usually people travel to Disneyland and Disney World because this isnt the peak travel season where everything tends to be a little pricey.

Yes. I used to work there so I have experienced this first hand. It is one of the most crowded days of the year (aside from New Years). The busiest seasons are summertime and the holiday season.

Yes, as I recall Disneyland is busiest during the Holiday season. Even if it rains I'd expect quite a crowd...

But enjoy - its a beautiful site...
