Is there anything you can do about it? It feels like someone's sticking a fork in the side of my head.

I get the WORST pain in my ears when it's cold. It feels like an earache only it's so much more intense. I especially get it when I try to go for a jog outside in the cold. The only way I've found to help it is to cover up! I wrap a scarf around my lower face, ears, and neck so as not to look like a geek in earmuffs. :)

Yes. I feel that the icy wind is cutting my head in two!!! Wear a hood or a Russian hat with flats over the ears.

I get that too! I wear a scarf either around my neck or over my head. Ear muffs work, also, and if you can find a nice knit hat that has ear flaps, try those.

It will if you don't wear a hat. Someone could bite your ear and you would't feel it.
