I am not sure what to do, and looking for an answer.

I want to get a new car, I dont like my 95 honda accord anymore.

I have a couple of options..

I really like the 2006-2007 Mazda 3's ( S Touring 2.3L 160HP ) but it would be about 17-19k for one, and I would have absolutley no money to invest in the car.

But I am considering getting an older (2000-05) Rsx or civic or integra or something that is around 10-12k .... then I would be able to put alot of money into it, like intake, exhaust, turbo(possibly) rims and tires, suspension, ect.

What do you guys think I should do, get a new car and leave it stock or get an older car and sup it up?

I am looking for something fast-ish, nothing slow like my little 135hp accord :)

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

What has worked for me is to buy a used car. Every mile you put on a car is essentially destroying it. Until you can afford to pay cash to completely buy a car without payments you have to buy an inexpensive car to get you around. Work hard and one day that super ego-satisfying, safe car will be yours. I have owned many cars without any payments. Started with nice used vw. Now I own three cars I paid cash for: 2 new and one used. 98 Mercedes; 04 Corvette; 91 Vette. Used means you get to also pay rent and eat and invest.

first thing you have to consider is how good are you mechanically?
can you do your own minor maintanance? oil changes, brakes, services etc?
if so buy second hand, but buy a car with all those xtras you want already fitted, everything you fit may make the car easier to sell later, but it wont increase the value of it, if u buy a 10k car and spend a further 5k on it, when you come to sell its still only a 10k car, plus it will increase your insurance costs.

If your not mech minded then go new, 3 year warranties with on road servicing is the answer, but will come at a cost, servicing a new car is not cheap, and must be kept up to date so u dont void your warranty, u can order those xtras u want on a new car, and are guaranteed.

i think you should look at the scion tc's maybe get a used one that doesn't have many miles on it. those cars look sweet they are quick and you will never have any problems with it.
