i dont know what "bound's hubby" was saying. there is no pre-sean connery james bond. he was the first. he had a beretta model 1934 .25 caliber which was replaced in dr. no for the walther ppk .32 ACP. then in tomorrow never dies, he gets the "new walther" the P-99 9mm. I'm not sure if it was the QA or anything, all i know it was a P-99, and that was the same one he used in the new movie (casino royale) even though casino royale was supposed to be before dr. no, all the stuff was modern day.
EDIT: and GOD DAMN goldeneye (the game) for ruining all these kids minds. the pp7 isnt a real gun. they had to change the names because of copyright reasons. wolfram=walther pp7=ppk. i was one of the kids that grew up with n64 and goldeneye is probably my favorite first person shooter of all time, but dont pretend you know anything (and fail) about guns by playing the damn game. HINT: 99% of the time games change the names of real guns because of copyright or something.
GOLDENEYE:
pp7=ppk
k47=ak-47
zmg=uzi
d5k=mp5k
phantom=spectre m4
ar-33=ar-15 (i know ar-15 isnt full auto but it doesnt look like m16)
these are the same people who call every revolver a "magnum" regardless of whether it is chambered for a magnum round or not because of a stupid game.

Originally James Bond carried a Beretta .25 acp (6.35mm caliber). In Dr. No he was forced to turn in his Beretta (because it malfunctioned causing him a 6 month stay in the hospital even though he claimed to have never missed with it). He was then issued a German pistol with (ha, ha!) real stopping power, the famous Walther PPK in .32 auto, NOT the .380 acp like so many American think!
Actually, loaded with proper ammo (not the ball ammo he was issued in the James Bond series) the .32 acp is the bare minimal defensive caliber, or 'calibre' as the British would say! Then again, the meanest man in Laredo was killed by a little old grandmother with a .25! Go figure!

In most of the movies, he used a wolfram PP7, a handgun more covert and smaller than the P2K. In 007 NIghtfire for PS2, he uses a PP7 as his main gun for missions, but the P2K is featured. As of the latest movie, Casino Royale, I am unsure since I have not done much research, but I hope this helps

Bound's hubby here:
In the Ian Flemming novels and all of the Bond movies, except for the first, Bond carries a Walther's PPK in .380 ACP (9mm Kurz). In the first Bond movie (pre-Sean Connery) Bond carried a Colt Agent or Banker Special in .32. I am not certain what they had Bond carrying in his latest movie but I would presume it would be the trademark PPK.

In Dr. No he was issued a Walther PPK. Since the franchise sticks with particular name brands (Aston Martin cars, Omega watches etc) i am assuming that Walther was the pistol,but as to what model currently i am not sure.
