they do not despise you behind your back? I am referring to the replacement of Truth for the sake of a false peace? Didn't Jesus say he did not come to bring peace but, division? The truth always makes enemies -- that's one of the reasons we look upon the crucified one. To remind us what happens to the Truth.

Yes the truth is also a "stench" to those who do not believe.
We know we are speaking the truth when someone does not want to hear it. Jesus said they would hate us because they hated Him first.
I am glad to be in the truth of God!! It is worth more than someone's hate of me. For I know it is the truth they hate.

I know Jesus said I am the truth the way and the Life i know he said he did not come to the world to condemn the world but if you do not believe you are condemned already i know it is written that many are called but few are chosen and the reason he spoke in parables is because it was not for every to understand i also know the reason he ministered to the world of the poor the sick and the criminals because people who are not sick no not need a doctor and of course he is Doctor Jesus by his stripes we were healed. i know when he was crucified the Temple was split right through the center and i know there has been no peace in this world But Jesus is known as the Prince of Peace i would like to read on this verse you are referring too.

Actually I don't mind if someone is nice to my face but hates me behind my back, as long as it stays behind my back. Then it can't hurt me. What upsets me is when people get in my face for no apparent reason. I'm sorry but I'm a bit precious. I like to live with the illusion that everyone likes me.
Now yahoo answers is different. People can be as bitchy as they want, but with the luxury of anonymity. That's fun.

I don't know what's inside of every single person's heart.
Maybe I'm a crazy optimist, but I prefer giving people the benefit of the doubt, and assume they are really good in their heart (even when they're mean to my face).

You are right. Jesus said that if you love him, the world will hate you. Therefore, they hate the truth because they hate Jesus and families and other relationships will be divided because of it.
