depends on you as well......do you think you can take a pill every single day? At first I was bad with taking it every single day and took it 3-6days a week instead of 7 and I got prego but then had a miscarriage,so then I decided to go on the birth control shot depo-provera and it made me gain lottts of weight. The first shot I took I gained 20LB's and then I told the doc then he said yea that can happen but would only happen the first time and stuuuuupid me had another depo shot and then gained 20 more pounds. But i've heard it also makes some other people lose weight, so with that you may just lose or gain weight so maybe not the best way to go tho. My sister had a norplant Implant in her arm for (5years it is in your arm) but she had no problems and it worked well for her in those 5years. But eeew I don't think I could personally have something put in my arm and left there.
I'm not familiar with all the other forms of birth control, but Alesse pills have been working great for me and you just have to take them evvvvery single day. And the nice thing is it has totalllly lightened up my periods, they used to be heavy then I went on Alesse and it made them verrry light with nooo cramps. Bonus there. Well maybe all forms lighten up the period? I'm not sure really.....lol ok yea this answer sucks and I am telling you about what forms I have tried and what is working best for me. But yea this would be something to talk to your doc about....
good luck on the contraception hunt ;))

The best form of contraception that is 99% effective, has no side effects, no long term health risks and is immediately reversible is Natural Family Planning.

For an excellent home study course, which I can highly recommend, go to the Couple to Couple League website below.

Please don't believe all the nonsense that you read about NFP being complicated and unreliable. I and all my friends use it, it is really simple and none of us got pregnant until we wnated to.

Don't have sex, but thats no fun. The combined pill is very effective as long as its taken properly, but if you are not in a long term relationship then condons should be used as well to give some protection against STD's. Talk to your local family planning clinic. The depo injection is very good if you can't be bothered with the pill, again don't forget the condoms.

the best form of contraception is using a condom. Protection against stds and pregnancy. I would also discuss with your gp the different types of pills/injection/implantations - the gp will advise on what they feel i best suited for you. If you are uncomfortable seeking advice from gp i would seek advice from your local family planning clinic.

If you are 100% against a pregnancy....my doctor recommended me going on a form of birth control AND using a condom and/or spermicide. She had said the two forms together were rather effective. BUT still, nothing is as full proof as simply abstinence!

depends really. If you are not a smoker the pill may work out. The patch is OK but I know women have trouble with it. The ones that go inside you are only good if you have already had a baby because they tend to fall out.

Condoms are not always dependable but if not in a relationship that you know the person well, condoms may be the way too go

Getting Fixed

Of course abstanance is the only 100 % pregnany proof contraception. Next to that is the IUD and getting your tubes tied (99.9% - 99.7%) then you get into the pill (97.9 %) and so on.

ABSTAIN, but if that's a problem u can try the pill if u can remember it or the Depo if u don't like having to take a pill everyday . basically u need to discuss this with ur Gyno about that to find out what's best for YOU!
