I am 40 years old and my fiance is 8 years older than I am. We plan on getting married with the next year and a half. My question is- Am I too old to have my father walk me down the aisle, and am I too old to have 5 bridesmaids? They are all friends and family and have been by me through all kinds of things. It will be his second marriage and my first. Please help!

No way are you too "old" to have your father walk you down the aisle! Treasure the fact that he is still there to walk you. As for 5 bridesmaids....whose wedding is this???? YOURS!!!! It's perfectly acceptable and in fact, even better! Your friends will be mature enough to assume "bridesmaid" duties....it will be a beautiful wedding. Congratulations!

Of course not! Your wedding is about you and your fiance. If you want 5 bridesmaids, go ahead; they're representative of the times you have had together. And I'm sure your father would really love to be a part of your special day, especially if you asked him to walk you down the aisle! Weddings are about friends, family, and love, so take advantage of the opportunity!

First off it's your wedding. It's supposed to be your special day so anything you want to do is acceptable. I don't think any age is to old to have your father walk you down the aisle, just be thankful that you have a father to walk you down the aisle. And I think it is just fine to have 5 bridesmaids. If their all special to you I wouldn't have it any other way. Hope this helps and I hope you have the perfect wedding you will love and cherish forever.

You are not too old to have your father walk you down the aisle, nor are you too old for bridesmaids. Just make sure those bridesmaids are in dresses appropriate for their age, and not some of these prom-style dresses I've seen. Live it up!

A father is meant to walk his daughter down the aisle no matter what age. Talk to him about it...if it means a lot to him....do it. As for the bridesmaids, I wish I had 5 friends I was so close to I wanted them to be bridemaids. The more the merrier why the hell not. Its your wedding, your day...do what you want!

no, you are never to old to have your father walk you down the aisle. just don't have him give you away. remove that part from the vows. you are too old for that. also have your dear friends and family stand with you at the alter..but don't have all of them walk down the aisle in front of you. just you this time on your dad's arm. that will be classy and mature. well done and much happiness.

If it's your first, I think you deserve to have a beautiful wedding with as much -- or as little -- tradition as you want! Go for it! I'm sure your father will be thrilled, and people who've been with you through it all are exactly who you want as bridesmaids. (Just make sure they can help you plan, rather than steal the spotlight or bicker with each other!)

You are never too old for your father to walk you down the eisle. Afterall, he is giving you away. Despite your fiance's previous marriage, it is your first and you are entitled to have what you dreamed of since you were a little girl. Best Wishes!!
