What is the best thing that you have found to put on a child's nose if it is sore due to a cold? I hate seeing him walk around with a yukky nose, but everytime I wipe his nose he just cries and cries and says it hurts. (He is 3) I am using a wet baby washcloth so that it will not hurt so much, but doesn't seem to help a whole lot!

I've thought of using carmex, but I didn't know if it would burn.

I already am using the soft tissue. I bought the best tissue I could find. The point is no matter what I use, it still hurts. I need something to help heal and protect.

A little Neosporin will help, or just a dab of Vaseline. I don't use wipes, they tend to sting (try them yourself next time you have a sore nose!)

My son had was really congested, he also had a sore nose, and I resorted to this: take him in the shower with you, and let the steam loosen up his congestion. Let him gently blow his nose into a wet washcloth (without wiping). The warm water will wash away any remaining yucky stuff.

There is a product called Nose Better that really works wonders on a sore and chapped nose; you can get it at any drug store but check to see if it's safe for toddlers. I used to rub a little blistex between my fingers to make is soft and the put that on the sore nose. Good luck

Try putting some Desitin on his nose. It will help it heal, and protect it from future blowings. I always do this on the kids I babysit and on myself when i start getting a cold.
The wet washcloth is actually making his nose dry out more.
Try the Desitin because it will soothe, and protect.

You can try Puffs Plus kleenex with lotion, that helped me, but I don't know if you can use it with kids.
Of course his little nose will still be sore for q little bit while until it heals.
