Your guess is as good as mine.. Everybody thinks they need to read books about pregnancy and raising kids and that's simply not the way to do it.... But then again, I'm probably one of the only one that thinks that way! Good luck to you

Bad advice??? I loved that book! I am rereading it this time around to refresh my memory. There was very little I couldn't find the answers to in there. My doctor recommended the book to me and I am glad I bought it. I even got the What to Expect the First Year for after my daughter was born...and AGAIN a GREAT book! So many questions are adressed and answered! Did you have a bad experience with the book or just hear people talking junk?

I agree it isn't a very good book. And although it is written by "experts" that doesn't make it good. Some of the advise isn't good, and some of what it has to say seems obvious.

However, things that seem apparent to some aren't always clear to everyone. So, to each there own :)

The "What to Expect" books, I consider to be along the lines of "idiot guides for _____"

Which would be WHY it's on the best seller list...

At least in my opinion :)

I found it to be a great book when I was pregnant. I read it 500 times I'm sure. Then, I purchased what to expect the first year, then I purchased What to expect the toddler years! It is great!

it relatively is relatively not ordinary once you have had a prior with somebody; you won't be in a position to easily close those thoughts off in spite of if he isn't stable for you. you may desire to discover a thank you to get closure without being pulled lower back into his life. i exchange into in a topic some years in the past the place I had to recover from somebody who i could not see anymore (long and unhappy tale) and that i exchange into desperate for closure so I observed a therapist. She had me do an excercise that made me experience stupid before everything yet that definitely relatively helped. basically what you do is get 2 empty chairs and have them face one yet another. positioned something in one in all them - a pillow or something and sit down in the different one. fake that in spite of you have have been given in the different chair is your ex and tell him each thing that's on your thoughts. Then swap chairs and positioned the pillow the place you sat and you sit down in that chair and positioned your self into your ex's shoes and respond to what you only suggested. Then swap lower back and respond to that and say so long. i be attentive to it sounds super awkward yet I swear it works and you will experience greater valuable given which you get to get issues off your chest and not see him.

Honestly, it's the only baby book that I have read cover to cover and I found it to be very informational. Personally, I hate all the doctor lead books that tell parents how to raise their children, put them on all these rigid routines, and how to set themselves up for failure.

I think that book has totally unrealistic advice about diet and is overcautious about exercise and a variety of other topics. Plus, it's kind of the "what could go wrong during my pregnancy?" book.

But I think it's actually a fine place to start looking for answers to questions. It just shouldn't be your ONLY source of information.

Bad advice?? How do you know, are you a doctor?? That book was written by experts. It has been my bible while being pregnant. If you are pregnant and consider that book to have bad advice, I am truly worried for the welfare of your baby.
