A little bit of both, really. I mean, you would like a guy to give you compliments and tell you that dress does not make your a'ss look fat, but, you do not want a guy who tells you the truth-all the time.
What I am saying is, sometimes, a little "white lie" from a guy is not the end of the world for me. Be honost and truthfull, but, try to consider the person's feelings in wording on how you tell the truth about them-whatever it may be. I like when my boyfriend tells me how nice I look and such and he tells me what his opinions are of certain things-if I ask for it. Then, if I do ask for it, he sits me down and tells me exactly how he feels and what he thinks. Sometimes I like what he has to say-sometimes I don't. But, isn't a relationship supposed to be like that? Aren't there the goods and the bads when dealing in a relationship? Better for me is when you are realistic with me. If you are going to wine and dine me almost all the time and you do not give me any leadways that you are less then that, I am going to expect that. But, if you are honost with me and let me know that, while wining and dining are fine, that you are the type of person that would rather cook-or help cook-a home cooked meal, then I will expect a nice cooked meal-you for me and me for you.
That is all I want. An honost smooth talker who will give me compliments, tells his opinions but keeping in mind on how to be considerate of other's feelings.
I hope I explained it to you the best why I know how when it comes to relationships. This is just the way I feel.

Every woman is searching for that fairytale romance even though we all know that love does not come easy. Thefore, they fall for the straight talker whom they believe will knock them off their feet even if it is only temporary gratification. Yet. even though more women fall for the smooth talkers they usually end up being hurt by these individuals. Personally, I fall for the straight forward guy because I am a rather confident person and I don't a man to whisper sweet nothings in my ear. I feel that knowing what to expect from the start is more valuable than living in a dream world. But, diffrent strokes for diffrent folks. But if the smooth talking works for you...do it. Just try to be more honest. Learn how to order your words so that you are speaking truthfully. Speak in a way that cannot be rejected such as instead of saying "How would you like a drink" say "Hi, there I think you deserve a drink so I'm gonna buy you one. Instead of saying..."I'm not employeed at the moment" say..."I've decided to pretain from my work for a while because I need time to figure out who I am and I wanna devote myself to finding that special someone" See, the way you word a certain topic can make the whole relationship.
Hope ALL this helps!

I like a guy that can be straight forward. I, myself, am a straight forward person, even if tellin' the truth may hurt. I don't like bein' lied to and that includes little white lies, too. I'd rather have a guy that will tell me exactly what he wants, what he's thinking, etc, before I would a smooth talker because eventually, you'll find out that they're not the person that you at first thought they'd be in the beginning.

i've seen smooth talkers lie most of the time, make you feel good most of the time.
I would definately choose straight forward guy. Although i like to hear some nice words, but for lifetime commitment you definately need an honest guy and other things you need to tolerate. Nothing compares to honesty.

Straight forward. It's so nice to know that yes is yes, no is no, and everything he says he means. It makes life so much easier.
By smooth talker I get the impression you mean a BS'er, and who wants to spend half the day trying to decipher his words vs his meaning? The older I get, the less patience and interest I have in those types.

I like guys who are straight forward. I don't like smooth talkers, they are probably using the same old pathetic lines on every woman that they meet. I would rather have someone who is straight forward and honest, that is much more special and meaningfull.

I like guys who are straight foreward but a lot of times theyre too straight foreward ;) so if theyre a smooth talker theyre usually more charming and you can see being in a relationship with him and it's easyer to talk to and get to know him
