I enjoy writing poetry and short stories, sometimes inspiration is hard to come by. I often just try to sit and write whatever comes and see where it takes me.

From existing items. I see something, then think of a way to make it myself - and perhaps make it better.
And I find a lot of art in nature. I have a small tree branch in a vase that I spray painted. It's one of my fave objets d'art.
