Right now, im taking some multivitamins and the pill is huge! Is it okay to split a pill in half so I can swallow it better?

And swallowing the other pill at a different time, or swallowing it right after the first one?

It is okay to split them in half as long as they aren't liquid gels or capsules. Some taste bad if you cut them though so beware. I would also take the halves right after each other that way you get the full dose. Taking half now and half later can lower the effects on some meds.

I disagree with pill splitting and here is why: you are prescribed to take 5mg of "A" every day. So to save money you go and buy 10mg dose and a pill splitter and split the pills. Now the problem is you don't know which half of the pill has more medicine. It is entirely possible that one half has 7mg and the other has only 3mg. I prefer getting whole pills in the dosage recommended and not splitting a higher dosage pill to get a normal dose.

It depends on the pill if you can split it in half. My guess is that for a multi-vitamin you can safely split in half. You can than take the other half whenever.

Yes..many pills are scored just for that purpose...As for when to take it...if it's prescribe for a certain amount, take that amount....If it's just a multity vitamin I don't see the harm is splitting up the time.

Yes, OK to split it in half. You can buy a pill cutter at any drugstore.
