I'm traveling on a plane (in-cabin) with kitty for the 1st time.. and her carrier is an inch higher than the airline specs. Is this OK? I don't want to spend another $70 on a new carrier. It's one of those fabric ones, and since she sleeps on top of it sometimes, it's decreased in size. The carrier has to be placed under the seat in front of me, but I think there will be enough room. I want to be sure so I can avoid any problems. Tell me from your own experience???

It' always best to check with the airline, they should be able to asssist you the best since each airline has different regulations. I have flown with those soft carriers named sherpa bags and have not had problems, they easily fit under the seat. However some airlines require sturdy carriers that are airline approved so check please, it is best to be prepared because if the carrier does not meet their standards then they may decide to put the pet in cargo. Also be prepared to take the pet out of the carrier before boarding, many times they will screen the carrier with x- rays. Bring along a leash and collar so you can hold her and have an extra way to hold her if she would get startled and try to escape from your arms.

Hi there...so long as the carrier CAN fit under the seat the airline will not make you purchase one of their pet carriers. We found that soft-sided carriers are not a problem, but it is truly up to the airline individually. Consider ringing customer service and ask them what would be acceptable to avoid any delays or missing your flight when you check in at the counter.

I'd be sure they accept the soft carriers. Some do not allow them. Also be sure you have a health certificate issued within 10 days of travel. If anyone says anthing about rules or policies, be sure and get their name. Also remember most have the policy of not allowing you to open the carrier at all...even to put your hand inside.

Well, if it doesn't fit under the seat in front of you, she will not be allowed in the cabin, and will go into the cargo section. They don't make any exceptions for that- my brother learned that the hard way, and his chihuahua Feebee had to go cargo, and the poor dog was terrified. Maybe you can borrow one from your vets office? Better to be safe than sorry.

regrettably, kindness does not constantly artwork in putting them into vendors. you will possibly desire to be the boss. that's my approach, and that i've got the scars to coach it! extremely, returned ft first is the main functional approach. placed the service on end, and returned ft first into the service. Then, you basically might desire to push the front paws faraway from the service door. instead, some vets will make living house calls. it may value slightly greater, even with the undeniable fact that it removes the stress of having your cat right into a service. Then, you're basically confronted with the thank you to extract your cat from under the mattress.

Depends on your airline, some of them are assholes about it and measure it, if it doesn't meet measurement requirements they will make you purchase one of theirs
